Apptivity Introduces Developer and Server

Apptivity Corp. has taken Java-based database development one step forward with their new Apptivity Developer and Apptivity Server. Modeled after standard RAD tools, this suite offers a multi-tier project manager, visual query editor, component-based form designer, source-code editor, and data-aware controls to simplify database connectivity. The environment supports custom Java modules, user-defined events, and the ability to import external Java objects for complete flexibility. Visual tools and simple property sheets make it easy to design and build sophisticated applications. A key feature of these products is the ability to define where various pieces of the application logic will reside, thus allowing for the design of thin clients.

Apptivity Developer allows the programmer to toggle between the project manager, which contains a hierarchical list of all application components and objects, and the source code. Java code is generated simultaneously with the visual design to speed development. The source is editable, and changes are easily read back into the application for further development in the visual environment.
