Clip Art
I wanted to mention an important point that was left out of Molly Holzschlag's "Clip Art" article in the December 2000 issue. She states that owners of Palm V with OmniSky or Palm VIIs can just use their Palm devices to test their applications. While this is true, you will be paying for every byte you transfer, just like any other Palm Clipping Application. With the Palm OS Emulator, you won't incur any wireless charges.

Scripting Languages
I find that wherever I look, PHP is slightly overlooked. I do know you guys acknowledge PHP as a strong language and provide great articles about PHP. I just find that ASP (active server pages) is always referenced whereas PHP is not recognized as much. So I try to balance it by sending a brief note to remind people that PHP is an excellentsometimes superiorchoice for anything that Perl and ASP are used for on Web sites.

Phill,
I think you'll enjoy this month's issue. Be sure to read the cover article,"Open Source: Breaking Through the Hype," by Jim Jagielski.

Redirect: Do You Read Me?
I read Dale Dougherty's column, "Redirect," in the November issue of Web Techniques and feel that perhaps the problem is his choice of Microsoft Reader. I have owned my Rocket eBook for about 10 months and no longer buy my
e-books through Barnes and Noble.<>
