Simple content update tool for non-techies

New Architect
March 2003

Most Web sites employ multiple content creators, but only one very busy Webmaster. To the Webmaster falls the task of updating the site with the content creators’ changes. This alleviates the risks involved with having non-technical staff update the site themselves; but all too often, the result is a “content bottleneck.” Sometimes, the problem can be so severe that time-sensitive updates are virtually impossible. Contribute, a new product from Macromedia, is designed to alleviate this very issue. It’s a content-updating tool derived from the Dreamweaver code base, designed specifically to let non-technical users update the content of Web sites quickly and easily.

As of this writing, only a beta release of the Windows version was available. According to Macromedia, a Mac version
will ship in 2003.
