Tango 2000 and WAP

By Richard Weeks

Pervasive's Tango 2000 provides a complete development environment for designing dynamic data-driven Web applications that you can deploy among multiple platforms with ease. The latest version of Tango 2000 includes support for building WAP applications.

Tango 2000 offers a full-featured editor and can be combined with Pervasive.SQL, or any other ODBC-compliant database, and even offers native connectivity to Oracle databases. If you assign columns in a database to a "set" action in Tango, you can execute SQL queries without extensive knowledge of SQL. You just drag and drop building components into the environment workplace; Tango 2000 is all about decreasing development time. The product is extremely flexible and extensible through its use of actions, objects, and Builders. All of this is achieved through the use and manipulation of XML. It's this use of XML that provides maximum portability of the developed applications, although Tango itself is available across a variety of platforms.
